Paul writes to Philemon on behalf of Onesimus, a runaway slave who has become a Christian and is now a brother in the faith. Paul asks Philemon to receive Onesimus back as a beloved brother rather than just a servant. He also offers to repay any debts Onesimus may owe Philemon.
