Open Bible Baptist Church is located in Sydney, New South Wales and was established in 2001 by a group of Bible-believing Baptists who desired a church that genuinely believed and taught the King James 1611 Bible as the word of God. The founding group initially sought out Pastor John Wheat from Quebecan NSW, who relocated to Sydney to help establish the church. Pastor Wheat led the church for 10 years before his death. Pastor Jason Young, who was saved at age 15 and called to preach at 17, graduated from Pensacola Bible Institute and came to Australia in 2006 as a missionary. After 8 years of ministry in Australia, God called him to serve as Pastor in 2014. The church offers Sunday School, main services with worship and preaching, Wednesday Bible study and prayer meetings, and Friday discipleship through a Bible Institute program.
