The Greek Orthodox Church of St George is the oldest Greek Orthodox community in south-east Queensland, established in 1929. Located in South Brisbane, it serves a Greek descendant population of more than 35,000 people in the region. The community offers yearly membership to Greek Orthodox believers and operates under the spiritual care of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia. Beyond religious services, the church provides extensive community support including aged care services, disability support, childcare services for over 30 years, a Greek ethnic school, and cultural programs. The Cultural Committee, established in 1974, has organized multiple Greek cultural expositions.
