St. George Indian Orthodox Church Brisbane is an independent parish of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, also known as the Indian Orthodox Church. Established in response to the migration of Keralite families to Australia during the early 1990s, the first Holy Qurbana was celebrated on 27 October 2007. The parish was officially formed on 15 April 2008 under the guidance of His Grace Dr. Yakoob Mar Irenaios. The church relocated to its current address at 479 Mount Petrie Road, Mackenzie during the tenure of Rev. Fr. Jacks Jacob. The parish maintains faith among Indian Orthodox faithful through regular worship, Sunday school, women's association (Marthamariam samajam), youth ministry, monthly prayer meetings, and theological training programs for laity.
