St Therese's Catholic Parish Edmonton

St Therese's Catholic Parish is part of the Catholic Diocese of Cairns, which serves 23 parishes across Far North Queensland. The Diocese covers a broad and diverse region stretching from Cardwell in the south, west across the Tablelands to the Northern Territory border, and north to Cape York and the Torres Strait Islands. The Diocese is served by bishops, priests, and deacons who work across three deaneries, along with 27 schools and colleges. The parish exists to spread the joy of the gospel, celebrate faith, and support the community. The Diocese's patron is Mary, Mother of Good Counsel, chosen by the Augustinian Fathers who first came to the region in 1884. The Diocese operates under five pastoral priorities focused on enabling participation in church life, fostering welcoming communities, reaching young people, promoting mission and evangelisation, and strengthening Catholic Education Services, Centacare, and Diocesan Finance and Administration.
