St Matthew's Anglican Church

Melbourne CSI Church is a Parish of Ashburton affiliated with the Church of South India and sharing ministry and space with St. Matthews Anglican Church. The church was initiated in 2011 to serve members of the Church of South India who had settled in Australia and desired Malayalam language worship services. The first vicar was appointed in 2012, and the church was registered as a Charity and received CSI Synod approval as a recognised overseas church in 2015. The congregation relocated from Mitcham Anglican Church to Ashburton and worships at the St. Matthews facility. Under the leadership of Vicar Rev. Bijumon Joseph, the Melbourne CSI Church operates as an inviting and welcoming community within the Anglican Diocese of Melbourne, serving as a bridge between traditional heart worship practices and local worship contexts.
