Vital Grandin Chaplaincy (Latin Mass Community)

Vital Grandin Chaplaincy is a Traditional Latin Mass community in Edmonton, Alberta, serving Catholics of the Archdiocese of Edmonton who desire the extraordinary form of the Roman rite. Named after Venerable Vital Grandin, the first bishop of St. Albert, the chaplaincy operates under the pastoral direction of the Archbishop of Edmonton. Since 2005, it has been served by priests of the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter (FSSP), a society of apostolic life established by St. John Paul II in 1988. The community has grown over more than 20 years, currently averaging over 300 Sunday mass goers across three locations. Masses are held at Assumption Catholic Church and St. Edmund's Parish, offering Low Masses, Sung High Masses, and daily Mass. The chaplaincy also offers Sessions on the Devout Life and the Catechism of the Council of Trent, chaplaincy socials, and special feast day celebrations.
