St. Paul's Anglican Church in Halifax, Nova Scotia is the oldest building in Halifax and the oldest existing Anglican place of worship in Canada. Founded by proclamation of King George II in 1749, the building was erected in the summer of 1750. The church has been opening its doors to pilgrims since 1750 and continues as an active Anglican parish serving the Halifax area. The congregation proclaims the Gospel through word, sacrament, and mission, welcoming all people regardless of background, culture, or life experience. For nearly 275 years, worshippers have gathered weekly to celebrate Christ's death and resurrection and to hear God's word preached. St. Paul's recognizes it was built on Mi'kmaq ancestral lands and is committed to ongoing reconciliation with the Mi'kmaq people.
