St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church

St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church is located in Hamilton, Ontario at 1415 Barton Street East. The church was originally established on December 19, 1917, with the first consecration performed by Bishop Mardarius Uskok. A new magnificent Serbo-Byzantine church building was consecrated in 1974 under Bishop Irenaeus Kovacevic. The church retained the bells from the original structure and houses a collection of Russian icons from 1907. The church community owns property on Binbrook purchased in 1975 for gathering and preserving Serbian Orthodox faith, tradition, and culture. The parish includes multiple organizations including a church board, Serbian school, women's circle, folklore group, and choir. The community emphasizes dress codes and timely attendance at services.
