Saint Patrick's Basilica

Saint Patrick's Basilica is a Gothic Revival church located in Montreal, Quebec, serving as the Mother Church of Montreal's English Speaking Catholics. Opened on March 17, 1847, it was established to serve the growing Irish community and Irish immigrants escaping famine. The church is built on a promontory overlooking Montreal and was raised to Minor Basilica status by Pope John-Paul II in 1989. It is designated as a National Historic Site of Canada (1996) and a Monument National of Quebec (1985). The basilica is led by Msgr. Francis J. Coyle and operates as a welcoming, reconciling community comprising diverse parishioners from many backgrounds. The basilica offers weekend and weekday masses, confessions after all masses, guided tours, adoration and benediction of the blessed sacrament on the first Friday of each month, and is open for visitation and prayer Monday through Friday.

Parking

Free parking is available in the HEC building for parishioners attending Weekend Masses. Enter from de la Gauchetiere and follow signs to exit by the front of the Basilica. At the end of Mass, ask an employee for the coupon to exit the HEC Parking.
