Notre-Dame de Quebec Basilica-Cathedral is the oldest parish church north of Mexico, founded in 1647 by Bishop Francois de Laval. Its gilded interior, beneath an ornate ceiling, holds centuries of Quebec's religious and colonial history within the walls of Old Quebec City.
