The Methodist Church

Barnsley Methodist Circuit is a Methodist church organization comprising 16 chapels situated across the Metropolitan Borough of Barnsley, England. The circuit's vision is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ by encouraging, resourcing and enabling the people and churches to serve their communities and the wider world. Many of the circuit's churches are located in former pit villages that historically relied on coal mining. Following the closure of local mines, these communities have had to redefine themselves, with Methodist chapels remaining at the heart of villages seeking to minister to communities and maintain a physical presence of the Gospel. The circuit offers both in-person and online worship services and maintains a commitment to faithfully proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
