John Wesley's New Room is the oldest Methodist building in the world, located in Bristol city centre at 36 The Horsefair. Founded in 1739 by John Wesley, it served as the cradle of the worldwide Methodist movement. The site houses an original 18th century Chapel, a Museum dedicated to John and Charles Wesley's life and work in Bristol, an award-winning Café, and a reference Library. The building is open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 4pm, closed on Bank Holiday Mondays. It functions as a welcoming community space where visitors can explore, reflect, and reconnect.
