Diocese of Canterbury

The Diocese of Canterbury is the oldest diocese in England, covering an area stretching from Maidstone to Thanet, the Isle of Sheppey to the Romney Marsh. The diocese encompasses 350 miles of coastline featuring historic ports and seaside resorts, along with rural communities, market towns and suburban developments. The region contains both affluent areas and pockets of significant deprivation. The diocese's vision centers on transformation through encounter with Christ, aiming to develop a Christian community that grows and overflows to transform and bless the families, homes and communities it serves. Led by the Archbishop of Canterbury and the Bishop of Dover, the diocese actively engages in prayer, community service and various ministries including youth and children's work.
