St John the Evangelist is a lively and inclusive Church of England parish located on Moulsham Street in Chelmsford. The church operates within the Bradwell Area of the Diocese of Chelmsford. Their vision is to Love, Grow, and Serve, focusing on loving God and each other, growing as followers of Jesus, and serving the community. The church holds regular services on Sundays, Mondays, and Thursdays, with varying liturgical styles including All Age services and a Green Communion option. Music is provided by the house band Windy Strings on the first Sunday of each month, with a Grade 1 listed Abbott and Smith pipe organ and Blüthner grand piano used for other services. In March 2022, the church received an A Rocha Gold Eco Church award, becoming the first Parish Church in Chelmsford Diocese to do so. The church registered with the Inclusive Church network in September 2024.
