London Oratory
London, England
The London Oratory, officially known as the Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and commonly called Brompton Oratory, is a neo-classical late-Victorian Catholic church located on Brompton Road in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, London, neighbouring Knightsbridge. It is home to the Congregation of the Oratory of St Philip Neri, a community of priests living under a rule of life established by the founder in the sixteenth century. The Oratory serves as a parish church in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Westminster. It is internationally recognised as one of the outstanding custodians of sacred music in the Catholic tradition. The church offers sacramental preparation and catechesis for Baptism, First Holy Communion, Confirmation, and Marriage.
