St. Peter's Italian Catholic Church
London, England
St. Peter's Italian Catholic Church in Clerkenwell, London has been described as one of the most beautiful churches in London. Opened in 1863, it was the first church in Britain designed in the Roman basilican style. The Irish architect John Miller Bryson designed it based on plans by Francesco Gualandi of Bologna, modelled on the Basilica of San Crisogno in Rome. The church features stunning painted ceilings and artwork, creating a tranquil and prayerful atmosphere. It serves the largest Catholic Italian community in London and offers various services including Daily Mass, Sunday services, sacraments, and eucharistic adoration.
