St Columba's Church
Middlesbrough, England
St Columba's Church is an Anglican church located in Middlesbrough, England, built in 1902. It is one of two remaining Anglican churches in the town centre, situated adjacent to Sainsbury's Supermarket on Cannon Street. The church is part of the Diocese of York within the Archdeaconry of Cleveland. St Columba's parish was historically much larger, serving approximately 28,000 residents in the Cannon Park area, but now has fewer than 1,000 residents within its boundaries. The church is affiliated with Forward in Faith and the Society of St Wilfrid and St Hilda, maintaining a candle at the Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham. It offers traditional, sacramental Anglican worship rooted in Catholic theology, including services such as Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist, Reconciliation, Anointing of the Sick, Marriage, and Holy Orders.
