St Thomas' Church

St Thomas' Church is located in Simpson, Buckinghamshire, and is part of the Woughton Ecumenical Partnership, a single congregation local ecumenical partnership established in 1977 comprising five churches south of Central Milton Keynes. The church is Grade 2* listed and constructed of Oolitic Limestone in a cruciform plan aligned east to west. It features a tall slender central tower, nave, north and south transepts, porch, and chancel. The oldest surviving part of the building dates from approximately 1250-1300 in the late Early English architectural style. The church contains a peal of six bells dating from 1604 to 1926. The nave includes a 13th-century font and a magnificent 15th-century roof with hammer-beam trusses. St Thomas' has nearly 800 years of recorded church history, with the earliest documented rector presented in 1231.
