About St Mary Star of the Sea Church

St Mary Star of the Sea Church is part of the Loughshore Parishes, a group of three parishes that united in 2009. The parishes comprise St Mary's Greencastle, Star of The Sea Whitehouse, and St James' Whiteabbey, with four churches total including St Colman's Greenisland. The website describes itself as being at the heart of the community and offers online Mass viewing through webcams for each church location. The parishes are undertaking an initiative with Net Ministries Ireland and provide various spiritual programs including the Pioneer Association, novenas to Our Lady of Perpetual Succour and St Peregrine, and safeguarding training for staff and volunteers. The parishes are part of the Down and Connor Diocese and participate in diocesan initiatives such as vocations novenas and pastoral reflections.
