Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church Bangalore Diocesan Centre

The Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church Bangalore Diocesan Centre is the diocesan headquarters of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church's Bangalore Diocese, located in Karnataka, India. The Bangalore Diocese was established on 1st April 2009 and encompasses Orthodox churches across Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and three cities in the United Arab Emirates (Fujairah, Dibba, and Ras-al-Khaima). The Diocese has 21 parishes and one congregation with approximately 4,000 families served by 23 priests, including 6 Cor-Episcopoi. The church traces its Indian origins to St. Thomas, who arrived in AD 52 and established 7 churches. The Diocese operates two mission projects providing care for mentally and physically challenged children in Eluru, Andhra Pradesh and Bilikere, Mysore. Currently led by Metropolitan H.G. Geevarghese Mar Philoxenos, the Diocese follows the West Syriac Liturgical Tradition.
