The parish has over 1800 families, many with ITPL backgrounds. The church campus includes grounds for spiritual activities and is described as a spiritual picnic spot. Whitefield was named after Mr. Daniel Starkenburg White, who ran an Anglican Memorial church, while his Catholic wife Mrs. Margaret White built this church in honor of Our Lady of Lourdes.
