St. Thomas' Syro-Malabar Church is located in Amalapuri, Kozhikode, Kerala. The Syro-Malabar Catholic Church is one of 23 Eastern Oriental Catholic Churches in full communion with Rome. It is the largest Eastern Catholic Church after the Ukrainian Church and the largest of the Saint Thomas Christian denominations with 5 million believers worldwide. The church traces its apostolic origin to St. Thomas the Apostle, who landed at Cranganore (Muziris) in 52 AD and founded seven churches. The church maintains a liturgical calendar following the Season of Resurrection and offers updates through circulars, pastoral letters, and press releases. The current Major Archbishop of the Syro-Malabar Church is Mar Raphael Thattil, born on 21 April 1956.
