St. John the Evangelist Church

St. John the Evangelist Church is located in Marol, Mumbai. Built in 1840 using subscriptions and church funds, it was established in a village that had the largest Catholic population in the region at that time. The church features richly carved Portuguese altars with life-size statues of St. John the Evangelist, St. Anthony, and Our Lady, along with other stone pillars and wooden panels brought from the original Condita Church. The parish is led by Fr. Anthony J. Fernandes and serves a diverse, vibrant faith community. The church offers masses in English, Konkani, and Marathi, and emphasizes communion through Eucharist, Bible sharing, faith formation, and daily prayer.
