St Gregorios Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church

St Gregorios Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church is located in Perumbakkam, Sholinganallur, Chennai. The church was established to serve Jacobite Christians in South Chennai. The inaugural Holy Mass was celebrated on November 27, 2011, by diocesan bishop H.G. Issac Mor Osthatheos. The church was initially housed in the YMCA Perungudi badminton court before moving to its current location. The St. Gregorios Jacobite Syrian Society, Chennai was registered under the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act, 1975 in July 2013 with registration number 207/2013. The church is named after St. Gregorios, a great saint of Malankara. It is managed by the society's managing committee. The current vicar is Rev Fr. Cherian Iype Thekkethara, who took charge on August 18, 2024.
