The Cathedral of the Most Holy Rosary is part of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Calcutta, located in Kolkata, West Bengal. The Archdiocese covers an area of 29,858 square kilometers with a population exceeding 40 million people. It serves over 177,000 Catholics across the cities of Kolkata and Howrah and adjoining regions, making it the largest ecclesiastical jurisdiction in West Bengal. The Archdiocese comprises 55 parishes and 10 quasi-parishes, staffed by 224 priests from various religious orders including Diocesan, Jesuit, Salesian, and other communities, along with 125 religious brothers and 950 sisters. The institution conducts services and pastoral activities in multiple languages including Bengali, English, Hindi, Santali, Tamil, Nepali, Khasi, and Malayalam.
