Saint Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church is the oldest Orthodox church in Alabama, established in 1894 by a community of coal workers and has remained active since its founding. Located in Brookside, the parish is led by Father Paul Davis, who has served as Rector since shortly after his ordination in 2013, alongside his wife Matushka Brigid.
