Catholic Diocese of Sacramento

The Catholic Diocese of Sacramento is a Roman Catholic diocese serving 20 counties of northern California. The diocese operates from its Pastoral Center and provides administrative, liturgical, and pastoral services to parishes and Catholics throughout the region. The diocese maintains an Office of Worship that assists the bishop as chief liturgist and provides liturgical training and resources. It also operates Information Technology Services supporting the Pastoral Center and Catholic Funeral and Cemetery Services. The diocese has a rich history dating back to 1850 when Father Peter Augustine Anderson celebrated the first Mass in Northern California in Sacramento. The Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament serves as the diocesan cathedral.
