St. Thomas Syro Malabar Church Denver

St. Thomas Syro-Malabar Catholic Church in Denver represents the Syro-Malabar community of the Rocky Mountain region, comprising approximately 60 families across the Denver metropolitan area. The church acquired its permanent home at 25 S Newland St, Lakewood, CO 80226 in mid-2025. The community celebrated its first Divine Liturgy on August 3, 2025, in the upstairs hall while renovations were underway. Bishop Mar Joy Alappatt blessed the church on October 26, 2025. Regular Sunday Holy Qurbana is now held at 9:30 AM each week. Rev. Fr. Mefin Kannanaikkal OFM Cap serves as the parish priest, having joined the community in November 2023 and officially becoming parish priest following the church blessing in October 2025.
