Holy Protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Church

Holy Protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Church is a Ukrainian Catholic parish located in Bridgeport, Connecticut. The church traces its origins to shortly after World War I when Ukrainian immigrants established an Eastern-rite Catholic church. The original church on Beach Street was purchased and renovated, with its first liturgy celebrated in October 1922. Following World War II, the parish experienced renewal beginning in 1950 as Ukrainian refugees resettled in the United States. The parish is led by Reverend Ivan Mazuryk and serves the local Ukrainian Catholic community with Divine Liturgies conducted primarily in Ukrainian, with English services available on Saturday evenings during summer months.
