Saint Mary Parish

Saint Mary of Stamford Parish is a Catholic parish established in 1907 and is the third oldest Catholic parish in Stamford, Connecticut. The parish operates two church buildings serving a diverse community. St. Mary Church is located at 566 Elm Street and functions as the original parish church, offering Sunday Masses in both English and Spanish, weekday Masses at St. Joseph Chapel, and Sunday Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. St. Benedict and Our Lady of Montserrat Church is located at 1 St. Benedict Circle and has served the Spanish-speaking community since 1964, celebrating Saturday Vigil and weekday Spanish Masses. In 2020, the parishes of Saint Mary and Saint Benedict-Our Lady of Montserrat were united by decree of Bishop Frank J. Caggiano. The parish honors its Slovak-American heritage while serving a growing Central American community from Guatemala.
