Galilee Missionary Baptist Church

Galilee Missionary Baptist Church is located at 505 35th Street South in St. Petersburg, Florida. Founded on February 14, 1940, by the late Reverend Frank Cubby with one faithful member, the church grew to over 3,000 members by 1976, becoming one of the largest African American congregations in the community. The original sanctuary, built in 1955 at a cost of $65,000, was relocated to its current site on January 17, 1982, with facility costs exceeding $250,000. In 2003, the Reverend Frank Cubby Fellowship Center was dedicated in honor of the founder, constructed at a cost exceeding $277,000. The church operates numerous ministries including choirs, youth department, Sunday school, and various service committees.
