Tremont Temple Baptist Church is a historic African American church located in Macon, Georgia. Founded in 1897, the church has played a significant role in social and civic issues throughout its history. During the Civil Rights Movement of the late 1950s and mid 1960s, it served as a representative voice for civil liberty. The church hosted notable speakers including Dr. Vernon Johns, Dr. Benjamin E. Mays, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and Reverend Jesse Jackson. For over 110 years, the church worshipped in downtown Macon before relocating on January 21, 2007 to The Power Center at 5263 Bloomfield Road. The church is committed to community outreach and hosts various activities including an Annual Easter Eggstravaganza, Back 2 School and Vendors Expo, and Annual October Trunk or Treat. The church welcomes all who enter and focuses on educating families, youth, and serving the multi-generational community.
