Asbury Memorial Church is a Methodist congregation located in Savannah, Georgia, organized in 1909. The sanctuary cornerstone was placed in 1921, with a large Education Building added in 1954. After significant decline by 1990 when attendance dropped to approximately 25 people with an average member age of 80, the church experienced revitalization beginning in 1993 by emphasizing inclusiveness, fine arts, and the positive message of Jesus Christ. The church uses a clown as its symbol, representing Christianity, creativity, and community engagement. Asbury Memorial is known for its artistic approach to worship incorporating music, drama, liturgical dance, and visual arts.
