Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church is located in Port Wentworth, Georgia, near Savannah. The parish was established in 1916-1917 when the Savannah Sugar Refinery relocated to Port Wentworth, bringing Catholic workers from Louisiana. The mission church was officially named Our Lady of Lourdes on January 1, 1940, with approximately 70 families. The cornerstone was laid on July 27, 1940, by Bishop Gerald P. O'Hara, and the church was dedicated on October 6, 1940. The parish built a grotto in 1958 to honor the centennial of Our Lady's appearance at Lourdes. The church offers Mass in both English and Spanish, with confession available by appointment. Sisters of Mercy and Franciscan Sisters have provided religious instruction at the parish.
