Our Lady of Good Hope Chapel

Our Lady of Good Hope Chapel is an African-American Catholic parish located in Lafayette, Louisiana. The Chapel was established in 1950 as an annex to St. Paul the Apostle Church to serve parishioners in the Freetown, Port Rico, and Mills Addition neighborhoods. Prior to the construction of the chapel, services were held in Good Hope Hall. The parish is part of St. Paul and Good Hope Church, the first African-American parish in the Acadiana area, founded in 1911. The church is committed to walking together in faith, advocating for peace and justice, and serving others with special concern for the poor.
