Emmanuel Baptist Church is a Christ-centered, Bible-based, missions-minded, family-friendly church located in Shreveport, Louisiana. The church's mission is to connect people with Jesus and one another. Founded in 1939 as the Hoyer Mission of Ingleside Baptist Church, the congregation initially met in Kansas City Southern boxcars on Roberts Street and became known as the Boxcar Church. The church became self-supporting with 78 charter members on April 21, 1941. Throughout its history, Emmanuel Baptist Church has occupied five different locations before establishing its current home on Buncombe Road in 1969. The current campus includes multiple facilities constructed over the decades: the Initial Worship Center and Fellowship Hall, Church Sanctuary, Gymnasium, Education Building, and Family Life Center. The church offers various ministries including Sunday School, Children's Church, Youth Impact, and Senior Adults groups. Sunday Morning Worship is livestreamed on the church's Facebook page.
