Founded in 1845 as a downtown mission church, it continues its original mission to serve as a witness to those in need in downtown Bangor. The church is committed to ministering the gospel of Jesus Christ in word and deed. Its stated purpose is to excel in equipping, edifying and evangelizing through the power of the Holy Spirit. The church welcomes all to join in worship and praise to Jesus Christ and serves the community through various ministries including a free weekly community meal.
