St. Mary's Orthodox Cathedral is located in Minneapolis, Minnesota at 1701 Fifth Street NE. Founded in 1887 as an eastern-rite Catholic community by Carpatho-Rusyn immigrants from villages in eastern Slovakia, the congregation was officially received into the Orthodox Church in 1891. The cathedral was consecrated by St. Tikhon in 1906. St. Mary's established the first Russian Orthodox Theological Seminary in America in 1905. The parish has a rich history of producing clergy and ministry vocations. The church offers live streamed services, maintains a cemetery, operates youth programs and a church school, and hosts various parish organizations. Elevators are available at both the Cathedral and Parish Center.
