The Emerging Church

The Emerging Church is a progressive interfaith community located in Springfield, Missouri. Originally known as the Community Christian Church of Springfield, the church is led by Co-Pastors Dr. Roger Ray and David Ketchum. The church describes itself as a community that accepts all people without judgment and strives for social justice. The congregation emphasizes that faith engages both mind and heart, and approaches the Bible as a text to be taken seriously but not literally. The church is committed to equality regardless of gender, race, or sexual identity, and values diversity, tolerance, and inclusiveness as core strengths. The church expresses a commitment to global citizenship, viewing social justice as the visible expression of love and connecting spiritual concerns with commitment to the natural world.
