St. James Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church is a Syriac Orthodox Church of Antioch located in Wanaque, New Jersey. Established in June 2007, the church primarily serves members from South India (Kerala) who speak Malayalam. The congregation is part of the Malankara Archdiocese of the Syrian Orthodox Church in North America, operating under the ecclesiastical jurisdiction of the Patriarch of Antioch. The church traces its spiritual lineage to the Syriac Orthodox Church, considered the first church of Christianity established by Apostle St. Peter. Services are conducted in Malayalam with Syriac and English used intermittently.
