St. Patrick & Assumption/All Saints Church & Rectory

New York, New Jersey

Saint Patrick & Assumption/All Saints Parish is a Catholic parish in Jersey City, New Jersey, located in the Bergen-Lafayette neighborhood. The parish has been serving the community for nearly 150 years as a visible presence of Christ's love and commitment to the people of the area. It is situated on a rise above the city's waterfront with views of the Statue of Liberty. The parish was formed by the merger of three separate parishes in the 1980s: St. Patrick, a grand gothic cathedral at the intersection of Ocean and Grand Avenues; All Saints, a smaller gothic structure on Pacific Avenue; and Assumption, a modern red-brick church at 344 Pacific Avenue. The parish was originally established by immigrant communities who expressed their gratitude to God and religious identity by constructing schools and churches. Today it serves as a diverse spiritual community blending established Catholic traditions with vibrant practices from around the world. Eucharist is celebrated at St. Patrick and Assumption churches.
