Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God

Albany, New York

Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God is a Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia located in Albany, New York. The parish follows the traditions and liturgical practices of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia. The church was established in the mid-1950s by Russian refugees who had settled in Albany after World War II, initially finding temporary space at the Episcopal Cathedral before purchasing the Anglican Church of the Holy Innocent in 1955. The original building, constructed in the mid-1800s, featured rare artisan stained glass windows and was renovated with an Orthodox iconostasis hand-carved by parishioner Nikifor Fedorov, an onion dome, and Orthodox icons. The parish maintains close ties with Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville. Services are held on Saturday evenings and Sunday mornings, and all are welcome to attend.
