Hillcrest Baptist Church is located at 820 Central Avenue in Carlisle, Ohio. Established on November 14, 1954, the church was formally constituted in June 1955 with 50 charter members as a Southern Missionary Baptist Church. Originally meeting at the Carlisle Community Building, the church relocated to a new building on Hillcrest Avenue in February 1957. In 1964, four acres were purchased on Central Avenue where a 600-seat sanctuary was constructed, followed by an education building in 1971. A larger 1200-seat sanctuary was built in 1983, which remains the current worship location. The church is affiliated with the Miami Valley Baptist Association and the Southern Baptist Convention, and emphasizes discipleship, community ministry, and evangelistic outreach.
