St. Paul's Baptist Church

St. Paul's Baptist Church is a historic progressive Christian congregation located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at 1000 Wallace Street. Founded in 1883 by Mrs. Frances Fields and Mrs. Mary Henryhand, the church began as the Morning Star Baptist Mission before becoming St. Paul's Baptist Church in 1890. The congregation proclaims the gospel of Jesus Christ through vibrant worship, committed discipleship, and active community ministry. Led by Reverend Dr. Leslie D. Callahan, Ph.D., who was called as the church's first female pastor on May 17, 2009, and installed as the 5th pastor on September 27, 2009. The church offers Sunday morning live streams of sermons and maintains numerous ministries including music, children's church, men's and women's ministries, community outreach, and education programs. The church also operates the E. Luther Cunningham Community Center and provides various support services to the congregation and broader community.
