Sacred Heart Of Jesus Chinese Parish

Dallas, Texas

Sacred Heart of Jesus Chinese Parish is a Catholic church in Plano, Texas serving the Chinese Catholic community. The parish began over twenty years ago in Dallas when five or six families gathered to study the Bible and pray together. As the community grew, the Diocese of Dallas helped establish a permanent Chinese Catholic community in 1990. In 1992, the parish purchased a small office building in Richardson, Texas, which was renovated by 1993 into a sanctuary and activity hall. By 2000, the growing congregation necessitated expansion. After five years of planning and fundraising, a new multi-purpose building was constructed and blessed on January 15, 2006. Six months later, the church was elevated from a Mission to a canonically erected Parish. The parish offers bilingual services in English and Chinese, with Eucharistic Adoration on Sundays.
