St. Mary's Orthodox Church of India is affiliated with the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church of India, one of the Oriental Orthodox churches. The congregation traces its spiritual heritage to Saint Thomas the Apostle, who is believed to have brought Christianity to India in 52 AD. According to tradition, Saint Thomas preached the gospel, ordained priests, and established churches in seven locations across South India before his martyrdom at Mylapur, Madras in 72 AD. The church is located in Carrollton, Texas and has worshipped in its own building since December 2009. Worship services are conducted primarily in Malayalam with English services offered on alternating Sundays.
