The church was organized on April 12, 1967, with eighteen Christians coming together under the pastoral leadership of Reverend James D. Stinson. The congregation held its first service at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall on July 2, 1967, before relocating to their current place of worship at 5802 South Puget Sound Avenue in 1973. The church is committed to lifting up the name of Jesus Christ and abiding in God's commandment to love one another and share the Gospel. The congregation emphasizes praise, worship, and fellowship. In 2009, Reverend Dr. Steven Lee Sr. became pastor, with Pastor Stinson transitioning to Pastor Emeritus status. The church offers multiple ministries including CD, outreach, marriage counseling, and praise dance.
