About Evangelical Immanuel Lutheran Congregation
We, the Evangelical Immanuel Lutheran congregation, are part of the Free Evangelical Lutheran Synod in South Africa (FELSISA), located in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal. FELSISA is a confessional Lutheran church founded on 13 September 1892 with roots tracing back to the Hermannsburg Mission in Germany. We are bound to the Holy Scriptures and Lutheran Confessions, viewing them as the true exposition of Scripture. We are committed to proclaiming the Kingdom of God in word and deed, nurturing vibrant worship communities, and serving society through good works. FELSISA is a member of the International Lutheran Council and we endeavor to be a welcoming and inclusive church for all South Africans, focused on worship, teaching, community support, and spiritual growth.
