2 Meqabyan 17:1-12
1A wheat kernel will not grow or bear fruit unless it is first broken down. But if a wheat kernel is broken down, it sends roots into the Earth, sends forth leaves, produces buds, and bears fruit.
2You know that a single wheat kernel becomes many kernels.
3Likewise, this kernel grows by rising up from water, wind, and the dew of the Earth. Wheat cannot bear fruit without the Sun, and the Sun serves in the place of fire.
4The wind serves in the place of a soul - for wheat cannot bear fruit without wind - and the water gives the Earth drink to satisfy it.
5After the Earth, which is ashes, drinks the water, it produces roots, and its tips grow high. It bears fruit according to how the Lord blessed it.
6A wheat kernel is an example of Adam, in whom dwells a living soul created by the Lord. Likewise, a grapevine drinks water and sends forth roots.
7The Dew of Pardon from the Lord gives drink to the long tips of the vines, sending water upward to the leaves. It buds from the heat of the Sun, and by the Will of the Lord, it bears fruit.
8It produces a good fragrance that makes the mind joyful. When eaten, it satisfies like water that quenches thirst or grain that satisfies hunger.
9As it is said in the Psalms: Wine makes a person's heart glad. When they drink it, it makes the heart joyful.
10Because the drunkenness of grapes can mislead and deprive a man of his mind, it makes pits and cliffs seem like wide meadows.
11The Lord did this with the fruit and the vine so that His Name might be praised by those who believe the dead will rise and who do His Will.
12In the Kingdom of Heaven, He shall make those who believe in the Resurrection joyful.
